IDEAS OF BEAUTY IN 18 COUNTRIES BASED ON THE EXAMPLE OF ONE GIRL!

The idea that ideas about beauty may differ in different countries, just like the languages spoken, is quite common.
In 2014, journalist Esther Honig became an internet star, sending her photo to designers around the world and asking them to make her look like a beauty in the picture. The same was done Priscilla Yuki Wilson and Mary Southworth, who based her work on a photograph of a plump girl.
For their experiment with photo transformation, Londoners chose a photo from Shutterstock of a girl posing in her underwear.

The photo was sent to designers from 18 countries to find out how the perception of beauty differs in different parts of the world. In some cases, the image adjustments were minor, but sometimes the designers changed the girl in the photo beyond recognition.
In particular, the most slender model was made by photo editors from China and Italy. Their colleagues from Spain and Columbia, on the contrary, did not give the girl in the body a thinner look.
Of the 18 people who edited the photo, only 4 were men, but they were required to consult with women in their area.

In the Chinese designer's version, the girl turned out to be the slimmest, having "lost weight" during image editing to about 46.3 kilograms. In the photos of other designers, after processing, the approximate weight of the girl is as follows: Italy - 49 kg, Ukraine - 54.4 kg, Britain - 57.2 kg, Argentina, Netherlands - 57.6 kg, Mexico, USA, Philippines - 58.1 kg, Syria - 58.5 kg, South Africa - 59.4 kg, Egypt - 59.9 kg, Serbia - 61.2 kg, Peru - 64 kg, Venezuela - 65.8 kg, Romania - 66.2 kg, Colombia - 66.7 kg, Spain - 69.4 kilograms.
