Salmon fillet under onion-cheese crust. So simple and incredibly delicious!

Dedicated to all seafood lovers. This delicious and quick salmon recipe is one of those amazing ones: it requires little effort, but the result is delicious. We suggest you prepare a healthy and delicious dinner, and it will be the most tender salmon fillet under a crispy onion-cheese crust.

  • 1 kg salmon fillet;
  • 1 large onion, sliced into thin rings;
  • salt, ground black pepper, to taste;
  • 1/4-1/3 cup mayonnaise;
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice;
  • 1/2-1 tablespoon Dijon mustard;
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic, passed through a garlic press;
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan, finely grated;
  • 1/3-1/2 cup mozzarella, finely grated;
  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking dish with aluminum foil.
  2. Place salmon fillet on lined baking sheet.

    It is best to use one side of the salmon whole. If this is not possible, take 2 medium pieces of salmon and put them together. The thicker the fillet, the better.

  3. Season everything with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Then place a layer of onion rings on top of the fillet so that they cover the entire surface of the fish.

    You can also chop the tomatoes, place them on top of the onion layer and sprinkle everything with fresh herbs.

  5. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, mustard and garlic. This mixture should be evenly distributed over the onion layer.
  6. Finally, sprinkle everything on top with grated cheese.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, then turn the oven to grill mode and keep the dish for another 2-5 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.

The fish turns out juicy and tender on the inside, with a crispy creamy crust on the outside.
