Unusual beaches of Spain

There are many wonders in Spain, even the beaches here are unusual. Some are completely hidden under water during high tide, others are hidden among the coastal rocks. On some beaches the sand is an unusual black color, and there are those that are like two peas in a pod the beaches of the Caribbean.

Gulpiyuri Beach (Asturias)

In the north of Spain, between the small towns of Ribadesella and Llanes, there is one of the smallest beaches in the world, Gulpiyuri, recognized as a natural landmark. Its width is only 50 m - a real beach in miniature. But it is unique not only for its size. The fact is that Gulpiyuri is a sea beach, but it is not located on the sea coast. As a result of the erosive effect of the sea on the coastal cliffs, karst sinkholes were formed. During high tide, the sinkhole is filled with sea water through the gap between the cliffs. There is no access to this beach by car - you can only get there on foot from the village of Naves or from the beach of San Antolín.

Beach at Lake Charco de los Clicos (Lancerot Island)

A real pearl of Spain is the beach at Lake Charco de los Clicos. Clean black sand and emerald water - a fabulous sight! A small lake is located on the coast of the island of Lanzarote. The lake communicates with the sea through wide underground crevices, and on the surface it is separated from the sea surface by a beach with volcanic sand. The emerald color of the water is given by vegetation.

Of course, tourists rush here, but all this beauty can only be seen: El Charco is declared one of the reserves of the Natural Volcanic Parks system, so swimming here is strictly prohibited.

A pedestrian tunnel, stretching along the foot of the rocky cliffs, leads to the main attraction of this amazing place - the mouth of the mountain river Torrent de Pareis.

The magnificent views have become an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, and the amazing acoustics attract lovers of choral singing, who organize concerts and festivals here every summer.
The road to the bay is no less impressive: 14 km of mountain serpentine road has a dozen 180-degree turns and one 360-degree turn, called the “Tie Knot”.
