Chalet in the mountains of France

The renovation of the Chalet Soley in France was carried out by the team of Chevallier Architectes in collaboration with the new owners. The first house of 190 square meters with a green roof in the place called Les Houches reflects the attentive attitude to the environment, as well as the view of the mountain neighbors. The extension, made of glass and lacquered black aluminum, contrasts with the original structure made of wood. The modern part of the project contains common spaces intended for communication, while the old rooms with low ceilings are used as private rooms and bedrooms. The renovation also included the design of two different entrances: a practical one oriented towards the family, and a more impressive one for guests. The residence’s successful location on the top of the mountain creates a good overview and allows its visitors to observe the surrounding landscape, which stretches for huge distances. The cost of the project was 670,000 euros.
