Xaymaca is a breathtaking island better known as Jamaica.

Beaches, sun, parties… this is only the commercial side of Jamaica. To experience the essence of Jamaica, you just need to get away from the main tourist attractions focused on “all inclusive”. You can avoid staying on the beachfront, but it is not advisable. For example, on the line from the West End to the lighthouse in Negril, the most attractive hotels in the area are located. Rockhouse, The Caves and The Cliff.

The eastern part of the island of Jamaica is considered the best place to watch sunsets, as well as an ideal place for scuba diving. It also has well-preserved village architecture, which is harmoniously camouflaged in the local lush vegetation. Of course, in Jamaica you need to choose the right location, and this is a key component that will allow you to visit Rick's Café, which is located in close proximity to the lighthouse and is still a huge tourist attraction.

This stretch of coastline is definitely a crowded place. People come here daily to watch the sunset, enjoy the beautiful view of the sea, there is live music on the top of the cliff and every evening there is a party with both tourists and locals. If you go further inland, you will realize that Jamaica is different. The further away from the tourist coast… the less glamour, hotels and crowded white beaches.

"All inclusive" ends half an hour away from the coast. And this is great, because we see the real Jamaica. The roads on the island are not the best, let's call it the price for the opportunity to see another Jamaica... small shops along the roads, tiny bars where you can stop and try that very chicken with Jamaican sauce. Authentic Jamaica is very interesting.

Along this route, between the stunning Caanan Mountains, you will find places like Zimbali Retreats, which represent the true essence of Jamaica. Afterwards, you will miss reggae wherever you go. During the day, there is a routine here… farmers growing and harvesting fruits on their farms hidden in the jungle.

This is where you can hike through exotic jungles that sing with thousands of bird voices. The Zimbali experience is great because you can be taken on a tour of the jungle at dawn by local Rastafarian guides. The walk ends at the top of the mountain with breakfast prepared from what you have collected along the way (including Ackee, the national fruit).

Rarely can you see how strong and beautiful the local culture is, the complete fusion with nature. Breakfast at Ital will be remembered forever. No chemicals are used here, because the Rastafarian culture is very important to the concept of the environment. You can also see crocodiles near YS Falls and discover amazing views in the Blue Mountains and Port Antonio on the coast.

There are very beautiful coffee plantations here. On the terraces, on the mountain slopes, it seems that they go into the clouds together with the mountains. There is some kind of magical and timeless aura here, at least in places like Old Tavern Coffee.

And already in Port Antonio, at the hotel, you can restore your strength, in Mockingbird Hill, for example, swim in secluded lagoons. Very close to Port Antonio and not far from Ocho Rios, 25 minutes inland from the coast, is the Blue Hole - a waterfall and a small lagoon.

And also, not far from Port Antonio, there is Blue Lagoon, after which the film starring Brooke Shields was named. It is a small turquoise bay, hidden under the canopy of the jungle. The fact that it is not so easy to get to Blue Lagoon actually makes it even more desirable. It is hardly worth taking a raft ride on the lagoon, it is quite possible to explore it from the shore. It was also here that the legendary bar from the film Cocktail with Tom Cruise was located.

Jamaica is overflowing with rich shades of green, blue and turquoise! Jungles, beaches, reggae and lots of fun! And if you deviate from the "all inclusive" for at least a couple of days, you can see the real Jamaica, which is unlikely to disappoint, rather the opposite... will add new aromas, thick and bright colors and impressions of this amazing island.
