Swing at the end of the world. It's a sight to behold.
The swings in the city of Banos in Ecuador will outshine any other. Their peculiarity is that they are arranged at an altitude of 2660 m above sea level - this is very high! Not everyone will risk swinging on a swing and flying on it over a cliff. This spectacle, not to mention participation in the entertainment itself, is not for the weak in spirit and nervous system.
Those who dare to ride this unique swing will have a magnificent view of the Andes, including the Tungurahua volcano. Imagine the amount of adrenaline released into the blood when the swing hangs for a few seconds over this incredible abyss.
An attraction in Ecuador is called the End of the World Swing because it could be the end of the world for you. According to Odditycentral, thrill-seekers can swing over a precipice without any safety precautions.
Until 2015, the swing was the simplest structure imaginable: a wooden plank suspended by two ropes from a metal crossbar. The sight of the swing alone scared off many tourists from the attraction.
The attraction is located near the place La Casa Del Arbol, which means "House on the Tree". This place is a tree and a small house built on it. The swing is located right next to the tree. If the traveler makes even the slightest mistake, nothing good awaits him.
It is not known for certain who, when and why installed such a swing. However, not a single accident has been recorded. And yet the outcome of an accident is one...
Just a few years ago, not every tourist came here, now, a regular bus from Baños has been launched. 1$, the last stop, a couple more minutes up the hill and here you are at your destination!
Initially, the project existed on a volunteer basis. Those wishing to ride were advised to leave n-amount, but ultimately it was left to the discretion and conscientiousness of the tourists themselves. A couple of years ago, they put up a house where they collect the entrance fee of 1$.
Having paid the entrance fee, tourists are presented with a picturesque view from the mountain, but everyone, of course, looks for the tree house with their eyes in order to go straight to it.
In 2015, the design was improved, protection was installed (like on carousels) and the swings were duplicated on the other side of the tree.
It turned out very interesting. Completely different views open up from different sides: on one side it is almost always cloudy, there the top of the volcano is hidden behind the clouds. And on the other side, where there is a plain, it can be clear.
