Did you know that there is such a profession - trouble-shooter. The essence of their work is that they fly around the world and solve people's problems. Any problems, any people. Usually - large corporations, less often individuals.
There are no more than 100 people in this profession in the world. Some earn up to $100,000 an hour, and their schedules are planned months in advance.
Troubleshooters' main concern is business reputation. Customers literally pass them from hand to hand, hiding them from their competitors. They have only one advertisement - a 100% result. Mistakes are excluded.
In order to better understand the essence of their work, I will give a couple of examples of troubleshooters at work.
There were two large companies in America that published monthly directories called the “yellow pages.” They were cramped in the market, and resorted to black PR, dumping, and poaching each other’s workers.
Nothing helped, they were neck and neck.
Usually all office workers bought two reference books at once for a dollar, without really thinking about which was better and which was worse. By the way, both reference books had the same information. So one of these companies invited a trouble-shooter
He looked into the situation, thought about it and said:
-Next month, release a smaller format reference book, and to have the same amount of information, it should be small but thick.
He received his fee and left, and the competing firm went bankrupt two months later...
-And what's the joke?
— The thing is that when reference books were all the same format, they hung around on office desks like maps, but when one reference book is big and flat, and the other is small but thick, then you put the small one on top of the big one anyway...
And at the end of the month you realize that you only used the top one, and the big one was never opened for a month. So why spend a dollar on it if the small one has everything?

Second example.
At Nike's headquarters, 1,000 people were racking their brains over an impossible task.
They invite a troubleshooter and describe the problem:
We started producing sneakers in some of the poorest countries in Africa. We calculated everything in advance, built factories, trained personnel, the cost price should be low, but then we encountered an unexpected problem: local workers in our factories mercilessly steal finished products. Entire villages, young and old, wear sneakers at a price comparable to their annual income…
We tried hiring more local security, but it only got worse - the security guards and their families also love sneakers...
If we bring in security from the States, the cost price will go through the roof.
Trouble-shooter: -What do you want from me?
Nike: - Figure out how to reduce theft to zero without spending money on factory security.
Trouble-shooter, of course, did not understand anything about shoe manufacturing technology, but unlike 1000 top managers who did, he was able to look at any problem from a completely different angle. He sat alone for a while in a cool, dark room and gave the answer:
- You need to release left and right sneakers separately in different countries.
The unsolvable problem was thus solved!
Further proof that everything ingenious is simple.
